Joe Davis (ARSM) is a 23-year-old Jamaican-British musical director, arranger, and multi-instrumentalist based in Kingston, Jamaica. At 15, he became the first person in Jamaica to receive a distinction in the ARSM Classical Piano Diploma exam. He attended Idyllwild Arts Academy in California — graduating as "Most Outstanding Artist" — and later enrolled at Berklee College of Music in Boston, studying Contemporary Writing & Production.
His credits include co-arranging GloRilla's Saturday Night Live performance, producing and arranging for Kirk Franklin's "Church Music," performing as bassist and co-arranger for RES at the Atlanta Peach Drop, and serving as MD for Tessellated, Verlando Small, and others. He was personally invited to DJ Jazzy Jeff's PLAYLIST Retreat twice and was featured in Rolling Stone.
Proficient on eight instruments — Vocals, Drums, Keys, Bass, Guitar, Steel Pan, Melodica, and Mixed Percussion — Joe brings rare versatility to every engagement. He is recognised by Jacob Collier, Questlove, Tori Kelly, DJ Jazzy Jeff, Shontelle, and others. He co-founded The Garden JA and Chromatics Creative Studios, and holds dual Jamaican-British citizenship. Available for international engagements worldwide.
Born in England and raised in Jamaica from the age of 10, Joe Davis carries two national identities with equal pride — and both are audible in his music. His musical journey began with classical piano at age 5, progressing rapidly through formal exams and self-taught transcription by ear. By 15 he had made history as the first person in Jamaica to receive a distinction in the ARSM diploma.
He went on to Idyllwild Arts Academy in California (Jazz Piano, Songwriting — graduated "Most Outstanding Artist") and Berklee College of Music in Boston (Contemporary Writing & Production), before returning to Jamaica to build his career on home turf. His work since has taken him from the Berklee Performance Center to SXSW, from performing the Star-Spangled Banner for VP Kamala Harris to the SNL stage and Kirk Franklin's recording sessions.
Joe is also a chromesthete — he perceives music as vivid colour, a form of synesthesia that gives his arrangements a visual logic and emotional precision that distinguishes his work. He is a man of faith, a breakdancer, a programmer, and a firm believer that the best music rooms also laugh the most.
